All first-time students coming to Coláiste Chamuis are interviewed.
All students must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the interview or the interview cannot proceed. It is not possible for an older brother/sister, aunt/uncle, or any friend or relative to take the place of a parent or legal guardian at the interview as parents/guardian will be required to sign documents regarding their childrens’ health and welfare.
The interview is not an examination as such. However, students’ command of spoken Irish will be individually assessed in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
At this interview also the aims, methods and rules of Coláiste Chamuis will be explained in detail in English to parents and students.
I spent a few weeks in An Tulach when I was in secondary school. I enjoyed it greatly and I learnt a lot of Irish there. I am a primary school teacher now working in a Gaelscoil.

Myself and my brothers all went to Coláiste Chamuis. We had a great time on the courses and still talk fondly of the events and stories of those years.
