Music is also another very popular activity. Beginners can learn a few tunes on the tin whistle, and more advanced musicians get a chance to learn and play regularly.
The céilí each evening is the social high point of the day! You will learn the basic steps and also how to do all the popular dances.
Inter-house competitions are also very popular – composing a song and performing it for the whole Coláiste with your house group, or producing a sketch or short play with the same group of friends.
Other very popular activities are arts and crafts, poster painting, sean-nós singing … and the big hit of the last few years sean-nós dancing and set dancing!
Our son had an amazing time and both of us were thrilled with the wonderful stories and memories he brought home. We were so proud of his command of the Irish language.
